How I Became a Chiropractor...
It all started one fateful day over 16 years ago...
Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about my practice. Allow me to tell you the story of how my passion for Chiropractor Care evolved.
Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I had always loved science, and possessed a passion for helping others. Being able to comfort someone and take away their pain is and always has been a very gratifying feeling to me. With this passion to help others burning inside me, I began my journey through med school.
Then one summer, while I was home form the University at Buffalo, where I went to undergrad and received a B.A. in Anthropology, I was at my job and had to push a vehicle across a parking lot. Suddenly I felt a strong pain shoot down both my legs. The pain was unlike anything I had ever experienced before and it left me incapacitated. I could not walk more than 5 feet without this horrific sensation returning, coupling both my legs and leaving me unable to walk.
After two weeks of bed rest and anti-inflammatory drugs, as per my orthopedic surgeon's orders (with absolutely no improvement in my condition), my Father brought me to a Chiropractor, Dr. Dennis Ashford of Farmingdale. Dr. Ashford first performed an exam on me, consisting of x-rays and various tests. After the tests were completed, Dr. Ashford adjusted my spine. After he completed the adjustment, Dr. Ashford told me to get up and walk out of the room to my Father. I told the doctor that it would be impossible for me to walk because of the extreme pain I had pain experiencing in my legs. Nevertheless, I walked out of his office and never experienced the same pain again. Sure, I've had to battle back pain and an unstable spine ever since, but I avoided surgery and was even able to play sports again.
After that day I became fascinated with Chiropractor Care. I felt the need to learn and master the art of Chiropractic so that I could start helping people the way Dr. Ashford helped me. Thus began my journey towards becoming a Chiropractor.
Another funny thing that started happening after I started Chiropractic Care was that my asthma started to disappear. Ever since I was a young boy, I suffered from asthma and used an inhaler daily. I was even hospitalized a few times because of the severity of my asthma. Thanks to Chiropractic Care, it has been more than 14 years since I've needed an inhaler. My migraine headaches, which I "inherited" from my mother and used to occur once or twice a week, have also disappeared. I started to experience the other physical improvements that millions of Americans experience daily under Chiropractic Care.
My experience is not an uncommon one. Many people go to a Chiropractor to rid some sort of pain they are experiencing. In the long run, as their pain goes away, they also experience an increase in their overall health and wellbeing. I invite you to call my office today, to experience the ultimate wellness that you were meant to feel everyday of your life!
